Punjab extends lock-down

Punjab extends lock-down again. Punjab Government today extends lock-down for further two weeks.

This is the second time Punjab Government is extending lock-down. Earlier, on April 15 government announced to extend by April 30. However, this time the government is announcing lock-down until May 9, 2020.

The government is also allowing dairy shops to be open during Sehar and Iftar, while Iftar gathering is on complete ban.

Chief Minister Mr. Usman Buzdar took this decision in cabinet meeting. Moreover, he discusses several other issues of province including the spread of corona virus.

Punjab government extends lock-down till May 9 across the province. This decision is to ensure public safety and to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

Collective iftar is completely ban, but government only allows dairy and pakora-samosas shops to open during Sahar and Iftar in Ramadan.

Instructions by Government

The government is taking all possible steps to deal with the corona virus in Punjab, says Mr. Buzdar. Furthermore, he strictly orders administrations to follow and ensure the instructions of government.

Moreover, the Government of Punjab declares this lock-down with mutual consultation of all stakeholders. It will be implementing the lock down around the entire Punjab province.

For this, the Government of Punjab gives instruction to shop owners to open between 2 to 4am in Sahar.

The government is also suspending the Special Ramadan bazars. They will provide subsidy to utility stores in a way to help citizens.

The government seeks people to be careful about their activities. One must protect their own and other’s lives too. CM Buzdar says, “I am supervising all the relief activities myself, and I hope people will help their poor brothers and sisters.”

He further adds that the religion teaches us the same and urges the citizens to help the people around them. Mr. Buzdar appeals citizens to not go out for no reason and stay at home. “Punjab Government is standing with its people in the time of pandemic,” adds Mr. Buzdar

He further adds that we should help each other to stand stronger against the pandemic.
