Saudi Health Ministry Urges Flu Vaccination. The Saudi Arabian Ministry of Health has issued a public appeal urging citizens . Expatriates to take the seasonal influenza vaccine as the flu season approaches. This move aims to reduce the risk of flu-related complications and limit the strain on the healthcare system.

The Ministry emphasized that the vaccine is essential for vulnerable groups.  Including the elderly, children, pregnant women, and individuals with chronic illnesses. They highlighted that the flu can lead to severe health issues, especially for those with weakened immune systems. The vaccine serves as the best preventive measure.

To facilitate access, the vaccine is being offered free of charge at public healthcare centers across the country. The Ministry also announced that individuals can receive the shot at private clinics. Which have been directed to follow government pricing guidelines. In addition, they are launching an online booking system to ensure the vaccination process is smooth and convenient for everyone.

Moreover, Dr. Mohammed Al-Abdulaali, spokesperson for the Ministry of Health, said, “Flu vaccines play a crucial role in reducing the number of flu-related hospitalizations. We strongly urge all citizens and residents to take this step in protecting themselves and their communities.”

The campaign also aims to raise awareness about the importance of flu prevention, including maintaining good hygiene practices like frequent hand washing and wearing masks, particularly in crowded places. With the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the Ministry has stressed the added importance of preventing seasonal flu to avoid overwhelming the healthcare system.
