PML-N decides to file references against MPAs who met CM Buzdar

PML-N decides to file references

LAHORE: The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz PML-N decides on Thursday decided to file references against three provincial legislators — Nishat Daha, Maulana Ghiyas-ud-Din and Ashraf Ansari — for meeting with Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar in a move widely interpreted as a show of unhappiness with their party.

Expressing dissatisfaction over the explanation given by the MPAs for meeting Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar earlier, the party has decided to summon the legislators to a disciplinary committee hearing, according to a report published in a newspaper.

The decision to discipline the MPAs was taken at a meeting of the provincial advisory committee held at the party secretariat in Model Town on Thursday, with PML-N Punjab President Rana Sanaullah in the chair.

The meeting evaluated the replies of the MPAs to notices issued earlier, and termed them unsatisfactory. Those present at the meeting then decided to file references against the MPAs.

Terming the government’s steps to cope with the coronavirus ‘insufficient’, the meeting also demanded that the government take measures on a war-footing on the pattern of anti-dengue actions taken by the Shehbaz Sharif regime.

The participants also condemned keeping PML-N leaders Hamza Shahbaz and Ahad Cheema behind bars for more than 14 months and demanded their immediate release.
