Fact-File condemns this high handed murderous campaign of Israeli forces against independent journalists in the Holy Land.
Palestinian Journalist Wafa Aludaini is martyred in the holy lands of Palestine. The news broke on Monday morning when Israeli forces bombarded her compound. The bombardment of Israeli forces on Deir al-Balah martyred several members of the Al-Udaini family. The initial reports claim that two of her children also got martyrdom in the horrific attack. However, her one son survived the attack.
Wafa Aludaini was a passionate journalist who spent her life sharing the brutalities of Israeli forces to the people across the world. She has been reporting on social and political stories from the Gaza region. She has been covering Israeli Palestinian conflict for years to share pre-historic agreements, formation of Illegal State of Israel, the Palestinian Nakba and the creation of Palestinian Authority.
Palestinian Journalist Wafa Aludaini was, undoubtedly, an authority on the Israel Palestine Conflict. She was one of the most valuable voices to understand the Land of Palestine, its people, culture, history and demographics. She would share the stories of children, women and vulnerable groups from within Gaza. Although, she has been living a hard life herself. Yet, she would always bring up the issues of other people in her community in the discussions.
Until her martyrdom, Honorable Wafa Aludaini was trying to connect with different stakeholders in the US and other regions to raise the voice of Palestinians at the global stage. Palestinian Activist Abbas Hamideh shared that she was trying to raise the voice at US Congress. However, she was silenced before she could speak to the world.
One social user Zaina Arekat shared, “She is the 174th journalist to ascend to martyrdom in the Gaza Strip since October 7th, 2023.”
The news of Wafa’s martyrdom came as a shock to several journalists, activists and media practitioners across the world. It raises a concern about the hypocrisy of Western nations who keep reminding the Islamic nations of Freedom of the Press. However, they are openly defiant to same freedoms when it comes to Journalists from the Muslim World.
Although, Wafa Aludaini is no more amongst us. Her mission continues to exist even today. May Allah grant her highest ranks in the Heavens. Amen!
