Major appointments take place in Islamabad. Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan has been removed as Special Advisor to PM.
Senator Shibli Faraz appointed as Federal Minister of Information & Broadcasting. Meanwhile, Lt Gen (R) Asim Saleem Bajwa appointed as Special Advisor to Prime Minister on Information. Ex-military spokesperson to represent government for now.
Senator Faraz is the Leader of the house in the senate. While Gen (R) Asim Bajwa is working as Chairperson of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) authority.
Rift between PTI leaders.
It seems like two of Federal Ministers are unhappy with the appointment of Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan. Minister for Science and Technology Mr. Fawad Chaudhary and Minister for Human Rights Dr. Shireen Mazari.
Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry in his message on twitter says; “Truly an honorable and dignified man @shiblifaraz has been appointed new Information minister of Pak, and a brilliant @AsimSBajwa appointed SAPM on info both ll make a great team. All the best”.
This message seems to taunt Dr. Awan. As, he may be unhappy with her because she took his seat a year ago.

Meanwhile, Minister for Human Rights Sheeri Mazari says, “Congratulations Shibli Faraz on becoming Information Minister – an old PTI member and a dignified man with gravitas face of PTI.”
It clearly shows that Dr.. Mazari was unhappy with Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan for her being part of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP).
Moreover, Former Pakistan Ambassador to the United Nations Dr. Maleeha Lodhi also adds a flavor in a tweet. She says, the changes are, “good move by the government”.
Early Careers
Senator Shibli Faraz is a member of the upper house of Pakistan. Earlier he was “Leader of the House” in Senate by 2018. He became a Senator after elections of March 2015. He is the son of the great Pakistani Poet Mr. Ahmed Faraz (Late).
Moreover, He is currently chairman of several standing committees of Senate on commerce, circular debt, planning and development, reforms, water resources, statistics, and climate change. He is one of the most loyal and honorable face of PTI. He is also relatively a calm leader within the Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf.
On the other hand, Lt Gen (R) Asim Saleem Bajwa is currently working as Chairman CPEC authority. His appointment was made last year in November 2019. Earlier, he served on major posts in Pakistan Army.
Moreover, He has served as Commander Southern Command before his retirement. He also served as Director-General, Inter-Services Public Relations (DG-ISPR). He held the office from 2012-16. It is also considered that it was him who uplift the public relations department of the military.
As Major appointments take place in Islamabad, lets hope its better for the country. Hence, these are the major appointments of today.
