Prime Minister Imran Khan launched PTI government’s first-ever development project in Islamabad. The New Blue Area is launched in Islamabad on Sunday. The project is likely to attract investment from national and overseas investors at a huge level. The project is scheduled for open auction from Monday, the 2nd of March 2020. The open auction of the project is scheduled for 14-16 April 2020.
This initiative coupled with several incentives to the construction sector including ease of deposit in Advance Tax on pro rata basis will encourage investment, result in job creation and speed up economic activity in the country. The government also has plans to launch commercial projects in Lahore and Karachi.
Interestingly, Islamabad is home to many beautiful landscapes across the Margalla Hills. The scenic hills in city host some of the iconic places. A new entrant is the Dera Daari Café in the footsteps of the hills.
Imran Khan’s New Blue Area in Islamabad is a different game plan. As the government initiates the new project, it plans to diversify the business activities in Pakistan’s capital. Blue Area is an old business hub in Islamabad. It is located at the Jinnah Avenue just across Pakistan’s parliament. Previously, the Blue Area meant the entire vicinity on Jinnah Avenue from the parliament until Centaurus.
However, the government seems willing to bring a new business district in the city. It is promoting it as New Blue Area. The Capital Development Authority (CDA) is responsible for the development and maintenance of the new vicinity. CDA is the city’s management entity which handles everything from property transfers to sanitation and water supply. It is actually the governance arm for Pakistan’s federal capital.
Although, there are some critics, especially those for the best environmental practices. Yet, this is a long envisioned project of several governments.
