Thousands of protesters take over Islamabad’s Constitution Avenue in the Red Zone and demand ouster of the PTI Government
Government officials demand ouster of PTI with ‘Go Niazi Go’ slogan. PTI had used the same slogan for ouster of PMLN government in 2014. The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf had asked for ouster of former Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif through an aggressive campaign. It brought its slogan ‘Go Nawaz Go’ which spread like wildfire. The slogan got its way in international arena also and the former Prime Minister did face it everywhere he went.
Probably, you reap what you sow is the exact situation here. Now, the people are demanding resignation of current Prime Minister through the same means. The Surname Niazi refers ‘Imran Khan Niazi’ which is the full name of current Prime Minister of Pakistan.
The government officials are angry with the government as it did not raise their salaries in the current year. Moreover, inflation is increasing everyday whereas the overall economic outlook is also getting worst in Pakistan. Further, the political differences and uncertainty is also destroying country’s stock exchange.
With all this, the life of a common Pakistan is severely affected. However, the government officials who regularly get paychecks every month are coming out on roads. It shows the volatility of situation as the government officials do not face such economic pressures as a common man faces.
A video can be seen from one of the senior Pakistani journalists. He brings into light the slogans during the protest. Thus, one can hear the protesters calling for ouster of current government.
