French woman gets raped in front of her children and police blames her. She was traveling with her children to meet her in-laws who were based in a nearby city.
The initial reports say that the woman was coming from Phase-6 of Defence Housing Authority in Lahore. She was traveling to a nearby city Gujranwala. She initially took Lahore Islamabad motorway. Then, she took a link road which moves towards the Sialkot motorway.

As the woman turned towards the link road and hardly crossed a kilometer, her car stopped. The car had less fuel. And then the story takes the worst curve for her.
She informs her family and also calls police. As she inform the police and share her location which is 2-3 minutes away from the nearest toll plaza, she keeps waiting for more than an hour.
In the meantime, some unidentified men come across her car and get hold of her. She runs out on road where a few cars are passing by. She seeks help from the people on road while her two young children remain haunted in their car.
The men drag her and rape her in front of her children. An hour later, the police arrive to secure the woman and her children. A number of passers cross the car where the woman is being raped. However, no one stops.
Police Response
Although there is lesser doubt of inefficiency and corruption in all ranks of police in Pakistan. However, this incident has brought the ineptness of police department. An incident which could be easily handled by the police force within few minutes was left for over an hour.
More to it, the police blames the woman. The CCPO of Lahore claims that the woman was wrong for traveling at late night.
The incident has created a strong reaction in Pakistan. A number of social media users are creating hue and cry on social media. However, it may not be of use as the government seems to be sleeping.
