Pepsi becomes first major corporate victim of Corona Virus in Pakistan. The famous beverage company shuts down its plant in Lahore for undecided days when the first case appears in the office.

As corona virus spreads across the country, it also affects private commercial entities, corporate world and the public sector. The wave is resulting in lesser functioning in all these entities. Most importantly, it is affecting the corporate world which is facing in lack of consumers, lesser buying and increasing costs.

Now, there’s a news coming from a famous beverage company in Pakistan. A worker from finance department tests positive for corona virus. Although, the company practices proper precautions and ensures the safety of workers. They were taking all precautionary measures, the workers say. However, one of its workers got infected. It is unknown if the worker got infection from outside the office.

Taking Corona Virus not seriously?

Furthermore, the company’s heads and senior employees were following a daily visiting routine to offices until now. However, the news has changed the scenario.

The company has sealed its offices and stopped the production. Further, the company’s profits increase exorbitantly in Ramadan due to a significant increase in consumption. Thus, is is important that the closure of its plants does not affect its supply in market.

Moreover, the supply of Pepsi is already badly affected in lock-down. Moreover, the import of flavors they use is from from different countries. The company is also unable to import flavors now due to the ban on imports and exports.

As for Pepsi, it divides its supply in Lahore in four zones of city; South, North, East, and West. Moreover, Pepsi already has enough stock in market to secure the profit during Ramadan.

Pepsi didn’t stop its work when lock-down was announced. All its employees were working as they do in their general routine. Thus, the company will remain close until the final decision by the senior management according to the sources.
