Irrfan Khan’s last words are,” Amma has come to take me”. Since his mother died just four days ago.

Major Fame

He is a veteran with nearly 80 Bollywood and 10 Hollywood movies. The movies which bring him fame are ‘Slumdog Millionaire’, ‘Life of Pi’, and ‘Jurassic World’. Earlier, he just completed his upcoming movie Angrezi Medium as the second part of Hindi Medium.

He won 32 awards on best acting.

Early life

Irrfan Khan was born in sahabzada family on January 7, 1967. His mother has royal linage and it is the reason he is called Sahibzada Irrfan Khan. His father was a wealthy businessman who owns Tyre shops.

Khan dropped the “Sahabzada” from his name as it points to his family’s privilege in past. He feels this could get in the way of his success. He also changed his name from “Irfan” to “Irrfan” to disown his royalty and to live ordinary life.

After the death of his father instead of joining his business he started trying his luck in acting. He succeeds to get admission to drama school in Delhi.

“No-one could have imagined I would be an actor; I was so shy. So thin. But the desire was so intense.” says Irrfan Khan.

Early Career

In the beginning he could not get the lead roles but keeps working as commercial’s actor on cable TV. He seems not satisfied with his work, he decides to leave it.

“Once they didn’t even pay me because they thought my acting was so bad,” he claimed.

Moreover, his big screen debut was a further disappointment. Cast as one of the younger character in Salam Bombay.

His breakthrough came in the British-Indian film ‘The Warrior’. It was the first feature from British director Asif Kapadia. He couldn’t afford an established Bollywood star then he chooses Irrfan Khan. The film won the Alexander Korda Award for Best British Film at the Baftas.

He was not just an actor, he’s such an intellectual person. His death is a big loss for the industry. People like Irrfan Khan born like once in a century. He impresses people not just with his acting, his words too impress them.
