PTI leader claims as he discusses his role in party between 2013 and 2018 General Elections
Confirms that many his party want him out of politics or at least PTI
Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) leader Jahangir Tareen shares that the rigging claim of his party in 2013 is untrue. He was discussing the issue of his opponents within his own party, i.e. PTI. Mr. Tareen’s name is in the list of beneficiaries of sugar crisis. The report of sugar crisis has been made public only a day ago.
While speaking at a private TV channel, Mr. Tareen spoke out that the hue and cry around rigging allegations against Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) was just a political gimmick. He said, “we alleged rigging across the country, but it was only in a few cases.”
He says that his party candidates could not even secure 2nd spot in 50% of National Assembly seats. He adds that a number of PTI candidates could not even come into first spots and got 3rd, 4th or 5th spots on the table.

Mr. Tareen says that he convinced PTI Chairman Imran Khan to bring new candidates for General Election in 2018. He finds this as the reason that many in PTI want him out and away from the party.
PTI started protests against the government in 2014 alleging that there was wide spread rigging in the country. A party led lock down made the city of Islamabad hostage for around 126 days in 2014. The lock down was called off after the attack on Army Public School in Peshawar on 16 December 2014.
Even after the lock down was over, the PTI continued to protest every now and then. The PTI leadership conducted hundreds of rallies and protests against the PML-N government.
The party continued to allege that the PML-N government is formed on the basis of rigged elections. The PTI chairman Mr. Imran Khan claimed that the former Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhary, some officers of Pakistan Army and and PML-N leadership were involved in the rigging.

The new claim is quite a different one from the earlier view of PTI leadership including Mr. Tareen. Has PML-N been vindicated with this statement?
